Boulder Colorado Fire Department GHG Mitigation Planning

Feb. 16, 2011 - SWCA was selected to provide the City of Boulder’s fire department with a third-party review and evaluation of its GHG mitigation and sustainability program. The City of Boulder has long been a leader in greenhouse gas mitigation and sustainability programs. The City has set a GHG emissions reduction goal of 7%. SWCA’s services included interviewing numerous City management and sustainability staff, and a detailed review of the Boulder Climate Action Plan (CAP) and the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan. SWCA provided an assessment of the department’s current sustainability actions and provided recommendations for future program improvement, including specific recommendations for climate mitigation actions and program development so the department could help the municipality and the community meet their GHG emissions reduction goals.
