PHOENIX, AZ – SWCA Environmental Consultants has successfully completed verification of its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data — a requirement of the firm’s membership to The Climate Registry (TCR), a non-profit organization that “establishes consistent, transparent standards throughout North America for businesses and governments to calculate, verify and publicly report their carbon footprints in a single, unified registry.”
“This is a major accomplishment for SWCA, and underscores our company’s and our employees’ commitment to do our part to reduce our environmental impacts,” states SWCA CEO John Thomas.
A member of the Registry since 2007, SWCA belongs to an elite group of organizations that are committed to measuring, reporting and managing their GHG emissions through participation in the Registry’s rigorous process. This process requires organizations to complete a GHG Inventory using TCR’s inventory protocol and to have that data verified by an independent third party for accuracy and reliability. In addition to SWCA, members of TCR include approximately 100 leading organizations across the country in a wide range of business sectors, including energy, mining, manufacturing, transportation, retail, communications, recreation, public agencies and consulting.
SWCA’s leadership in carbon management also extends to its environmental services, which includes assisting clients with the inventory and verification of their GHG emissions. SWCA has a dedicated climate change and sustainability services group which has helped dozens of clients, including over 300 facilities, complete their GHG Inventory and develop programs and systems to reduce their future emissions.
SWCA’s full-spectrum of environmental services focuses on planning, natural and cultural resource management, permitting, regulatory compliance, environmental inspection, and sustainability and climate change consulting. Their growing team of professionals in more than 20 offices throughout the United States combines scientific expertise with in-depth knowledge of permitting and compliance protocols to achieve technically sound, cost-effective solutions for a full range of environmental projects throughout the United States and its territories.
